Data are from the Americans for the Arts Local Index. Cultural participation data was collected between 2012 and 2014, and represents an average percentage. All indicators are for adults age 18 or over. Arts participation includes playing a musical instrument, attending popular entertainment (country music, R&B, hip-hop, and rock and roll performances, comedy and other ‘stage’ performances) and live performing arts (theatre, dance, symphony, opera), visiting art museums and zoos, purchasing music media or video online, and attending movies. Live Entertainment includes music concerts or other stage performances. Live Performing Arts includes theatre, dance, symphony, and opera. Recorded media include music, videocassettes and DVDs.

Cultural participation data were collected between 2012 and 2014.
